The Lielvārde belt holds significant cultural value and is recognized in Latvia’s Cultural Canon. Featuring 56 delicate pattern threads, it closely resembles the original 19th-century designs, enabling intricate and branching patterns. Its uniqueness comes from its subtlety and the precise, skillful arrangement of diverse motifs. These symbols exhibit a range of variations, with adjacent signs being interconnected—when one symbol takes shape, the next begins to emerge. The arrangement of patterns in the belt often leads to repeated related motifs.
